About Bill
I play piano and sing classic rock as Bill Hatfield. I moved here to Gainesville, Florida in 1979 with a contract playing at three restaurant/clubs. I've been here ever since. Back then, I worked as a musician and daylighted as an employee in a bookstore. Since then, I owned my own bookstore, Novel Ideas, closed it in 1997, and since have worked as a manager in bookstores for a living and still moonlight as a musician.
I write as William Hatfield, and have one science fiction novel, Captive Audience, published and in print. I have written the sequel and am in the process of re-editing it with the hopes of it being published in 2009. I am also about half way through a contemporary novel based in Key West, Menu For Murder. Key West is the perfect setting for the quirky characters I love to create and write about.
